Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Fishy smell is the odor produced by the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids to aldehydes, ketones and other harmful substances catalyzed by soybean lipoxidase LOX. In order to eliminate the fishy smell of soybean, high temperature deodorization and chemical deodorization processes have to be selected for soybean processing. However, these two deodorization methods not only reduce the solubility of soybean protein, but also cause varying degrees of pollution to soybean products, but also increase the cost. The planting of fishless soybeans provides a strong guarantee for the national implementation of the National Soybean Action Plan and the Student drinking Milk Plan. No fishy smell of beans

No fishy soybean Zhongte No. 1 was bred by the Variety Resources Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The variety has strong growth and large frame, and 3-8 branches are fan-shaped. With the characteristics of early flowering and long flowering period, the flowers are purplish red and bright and pleasing to the eye. There are 60-200 pods per plant, up to 300 at most. 2-3 grains per pod, bright yellow grain and brown white umbilical cord. Developed root system, lodging resistance, disease resistance, not premature senescence, resistance to fertilizer and water. The whole growth period of spring sowing is 125 days and that of summer sowing is 110 days. Through the three-year regional test in Henan Province from 1999 to 2001, it was designated as a soybean variety with development potential in the provincial regional test. The yield was 178.2 kg per 667m2 (1 mu) in Xinxiang, Henan and 218.4 kg per 667m2 in Wenxian. The average yield was 209.8 kg per 667m2 in Qixian regional trial, 197.2 kg per 667m2 in Puyang (old city) Peixitun and more than 200kg per 667m2 in individual plots. This variety has stable yield and rich stress-resistant genes in the regional trial, and has become the first leading new variety of fishy soybean in Henan Province.
