Starting from Pleurotus ostreatus, at present, the varieties cultivated with straw waste in Hebei have developed to nearly 10 varieties, such as Tricholoma, Dazong mushroom, straw mushroom, etc., with annual conversion and utilization of straw produced by 4.2 million mu of land, digestion and utilization of 1.6 million tons of dry livestock and poultry manure, producing 2 million square meters of organic fertilizer.
Wang Shunxiang, Gaozhuang Village, Chengguan Town, Feixiang County, built four mushroom sheds, each with a size of half an mu. Pleurotus ostreatus or Pleurotus ostreatus was cultivated from October to February of the following year, and each greenhouse was transformed into about 6000 kg of corncob, cottonstalk and cottonseed husk, resulting in a total yield of about 30 tons of fresh mushrooms and a net income of about 30, 000 yuan. According to reports, the mushroom bran can not only be processed into feed and activated carbon, but also can cultivate other varieties of edible fungi and make organic fertilizer. At present, the circular economy system with edible mushroom industry as the core in Hebei Province has begun to take shape.
