Usually, cherry blossoms are propagated mainly by grafting, and single cherry blossoms or cherries are often used as rootstocks. Cutting or splicing are carried out before blooming in early spring, but there are few reports of cutting propagation. In recent years, we have conducted experiments on tender wood cutting propagation of cherry blossoms. The results show that within 25 days after cutting, the average rooting rate is more than 95%, and the maximum number of rooting per plant can reach 20, and most of them belong to cortical roots, and there are also callous roots. the survival rate of transplanting is more than 90%. The technology is introduced as follows.

1 cutting and treatment of cuttings

From mid-early June to mid-early September, the semi-lignified branches germinated in the same year were collected and cut into 10~15cm-long branches, with 2-3 leaves at the top of each branch, and the other leaves were removed together with the petiole. the cut under the cuttings was cut flat with a sharp blade, which required a flat cut. The cut cuttings were bundled into small bundles of 50 or 100s. in a cool and wet place, the cuttings were soaked in ABT rooting powder No. 1 (developed by the ABT Research Center of Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences) for 5 hours for 8 hours or in 100mg/L solutions for 2 hours for 4 hours.

2 cutting methods and post-cutting management

2.1 slotting machine settings

Select the cool and easy drainage place to build a small plastic arch shed with a width of 1.2m and a width of 1.2m and a length of 5.0m and 6.0m, and the height of the arch shed is 70~90cm. First dig 25cm at the bottom, then cover the slag with about 10cm thickness, and then cover the top with expanded perlite or green sand about 10cm as cutting substrate and pour water through it.

2.2 Cuttage

The cuttings were cut in the cutting bed according to the plant spacing 3cm and row spacing 5cm (it is advisable that the cuttings leaves do not overlap each other). When cutting, drill holes with short wood slightly thicker than cuttings, and then put cuttings into the hole to compact the matrix around the cuttings, so that the matrix is in close contact with the cuttings, and the cutting depth is 4~5cm.

2.3 plug-in management

Immediately after cutting, sprinkle thoroughly with clean water, cover the greenhouse film strictly, and keep the relative humidity above 95%. After that, spray an appropriate amount of clear water once every morning. The temperature in the arch shed should be kept at about 30 ℃, if it is more than 35 ℃, the temperature can be cooled by sprinkling water, and the substrate temperature should be about 25 ℃. The amount of water sprayed at the initial stage of cutting should be larger, and then gradually reduced. When the cuttings begin to take root (usually about 15 days after cutting), it can be properly ventilated sooner or later, and then gradually increase the ventilation rate and prolong the ventilation time. When the root length of cuttings reaches 3~5cm and each cuttings have 3-5 roots, they can be transplanted.

3 transplanting

Open the greenhouse film gradually before transplanting, refine the seedlings for about 7 days, and reduce the amount of water spraying. When transplanting, the hardened cuttings will be directly transferred to the field, immediately watered, shaded with a sunshade net for a few days, avoid exposure. It can also be moved into the nutrition bowl (the cultivation soil requires good permeability), and then placed in the small arch shed, watered thoroughly, covered with greenhouse film, moisturized and shaded for a few days, ventilated in the morning and evening at the beginning, gradually increased ventilation after 2 or 3 days, opened the greenhouse film after 10 days, removed the shade, and then the seedlings can be moved into the field after 4 or 5 days.
