Poisoning and first aid of canine household products

For puppies that don't understand danger and are curious, a seemingly safe home can be dangerous. Don't underestimate the ability of a puppy to rummage around when leaving it at home alone. Be sure to put away all the things that pose a threat to it, such as poisonous, charged, indigestible, sharp and heavy items. The following common toxic substances in homes should be extra vigilant:

Alkaline detergent: dogs may be inadvertently knocked over and poisoned, resulting in skin burning symptoms, do not vomit during rescue.

Solvent or thinner: the owner mistakenly used it to wash away paint from the dog, resulting in vomiting, diarrhea, cramps and tongue ulcers. The fur can be washed with soap and water and sent to the hospital immediately.

Chlorine: the dog's eyes and mouth will turn red after poisoning with chlorine-containing water purifiers (general pool water sterilized with bleach). Detoxify eyes and mouth with clean water or salt water.

Liquid detergent: the dog drinks the washing solution by mistake, foams or bubbles in the mouth after poisoning, just wash your mouth with clean water.

Insect repellent: after accidentally eating, the dog appears excited, convulsive, restless, drooling, spasm, coma, which may be fatal; if there is no spasm, wash it with water as far as possible; if there is a spasm, avoid light and send it to the hospital immediately.

Flea killing drugs: after poisoning caused by flea killing drugs containing organophosphate, shampoo, residual agents on clothing and old-fashioned insecticides, muscle convulsions, drooling, dyspnea, increased defecation and defecation should be sent to the hospital immediately after careful cleaning.

Kerosene: accidentally ingest kerosene contained in heating systems or detergents, causing abdominal discomfort in dogs. Don't vomit at this time, feed the mixture of milk and vegetable oil, and then take laxatives as directed by your doctor.

Tobacco: tobacco poisoning caused by picking cigarettes. If it causes vomiting, activated carbon tablets can be used to relieve discomfort.

Lead: old-fashioned paint, water pipes, fishing lead pendants, solder, linoleum, some lubricants can be caused, symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, neuroticism, fear of light, screaming, walking shaking, vomiting immediately to the hospital.

Warfarin: this is an anticoagulant used by patients with heart disease. it is also used as a rodenticide. Congestion and gingival bleeding can be fatal after poisoning. Vomiting should be accelerated and vitamin K should be injected to stop bleeding.

Phenol wood preservatives: some fungicides, disinfectants, photo developers can also cause this kind of poisoning, shaking, convulsions, depression, coma, do not vomit during detoxification, feed milk and vegetable oil, and then take laxatives to the hospital. Be careful not to use disinfectant on dogs unless it is specifically stated on the product that it is safe for dogs.

Snail bait: the polyacetaldehyde contained in the snail and slug bait can give off a dog's favorite smell, tremble, drool, spasm and coma after poisoning, which can be fatal. If you just eat it, vomit immediately and send it to the hospital.

Brucine: pesticides can cause this type of poisoning, with symptoms including depression, tension, rigidity, spasms and even death. Immediately after vomiting, send it to the hospital and bring the suspicious items to the hospital.

Special reminder! Do not vomit after eating the following items: caustic soda, toilet cleaner, dishwashing detergent, kerosene, alkali, paint thinner, furniture floor leather polish, wood preservative, bleach, pipe cleaner, concentrated washing powder, oven cleaner, gasoline.
