The summer harvest of potatoes is in the high temperature season, and the potato pieces after harvest can be stored in a cool and ventilated room, cellar or shade shed. The potato pile is generally no more than 0.5m and no more than 2m wide. 1. Potatoes were harvested in Lvda area of Liaoning Province in mid-July and stored in shady sheds or empty houses until October. The depth of the ditch is 1 ~ 1.2m, the width is 1mm ~ 1.5m, and the length is unlimited. The potatoes are piled up to 0.2m from the ground, and the soil is covered with heat preservation. The total thickness of the soil is about 0.8m, which should be covered step by step with the decrease of air temperature. The pile of potatoes in the ditch should not be too high, otherwise the temperature at the bottom and middle of the ditch is easy to be on the high side, and the heat of the potato will cause rot.

It is not easy to create a low temperature environment in summer and autumn in various parts of the south, and the potato sprouts lose seriously after the dormant period. in order to restrain germination, α-naphthyl acetate methyl ester or α-naphthyl ethyl acetate can be used to inhibit sprouting. Every 10t potato block was treated with 0.4~0.5kg and 15 ~ 30kg fine soil was added to make powder and sprinkle it in the potato pile. It should be carried out in the middle of dormancy, not too late, otherwise the efficacy will be reduced. MH can also inhibit the sprouting of potato, but it needs to be sprayed in the field during the fat stage of potato. The drug concentration was 0.3%-0.5% and sprayed 3-4 weeks before harvest. In case of rain, it should be re-sprayed properly.
5. Radiation treatment irradiated potato with γ-ray of 2.064~3.87C/kg (8~15kR) has obvious sprouting inhibition effect, which is a technique with better sprouting inhibition effect in potato storage at present. At the same dose, the higher the dose rate, the more obvious the effect. Irradiated potatoes can be stored well for several months at room temperature.
