How to control the "early panicle" of rice?

Last Updated: 2024/11/08, The Yangtze River and Huaihe River basins have continued to suffer from drought and little rain this year, which has seriously affected agricultural production. From July to August, the phenomenon of early panicle appeared in the rice planting areas north of the Yangtze River and in the Huaihe River basin. The performance in the field showed that the early heading of each hole was 2mur3 ears, which was different from the late tillering for more than 7-10 days, obviously showing "two ear" or "three ear". To make up for the loss of field production caused by "early spike" as soon as possible, the following analyzes the causes of early spike and puts forward rescue measures. The length of rice seedling age is closely related to the phenomenon of early panicle.

The length of rice seedling age is closely related to the phenomenon of early panicle. The rooting ability of seedlings with moderate age is strong, the rooting ability of seedlings with long age is not as fast as that of young seedlings, and the rooting ability of old seedlings with long age and poor management is declining, and the tillering of living trees is slow. Especially for early rice and continuous cropping late rice, 1/3 or more of the growth period is spent in the seedling field, and the seedling age should be prolonged if it is properly sown early. However, the seedling age is too long, especially if the seedling age range of some varieties is more strict than the suitable seedling age, it will enter the reproductive growth earlier; the total leaf number of the main stem decreases and the economic characters become worse. When this kind of over-aged seedling is planted in the field, it will earing prematurely so that the spike has fewer grains. The suitable seedling age varies from variety to variety. Generally speaking, the suitable seedling age of early-maturing varieties is not longer than 25 days, that of middle-maturing varieties is not longer than 30 days, and that of late-maturing varieties is not longer than 35 days. The suitable age of strong seedlings is not over age, which can prevent early panicle, which is the basis of high yield of rice.

Control methods of early panicle rice seedlings: generally, seedlings beyond seedling age should be eliminated as far as possible. If the seedlings are not enough and have to be used, squatting seedlings can also be used to restrain the overgrowth in addition to heavy application of body fertilizer in the seedling field, more rake fertilizer and early application of quick-acting fertilizer in Honda. The practice is to shovel the seedlings with soil about 7 days before transplanting, and then put them neatly in place or slightly moved, apply quick-acting chemical fertilizer before or after shoveling seedlings, and protect them with an inch of water at the end of transplanting until transplanting is not dehydrated. After squatting, the growth of the aboveground part was temporarily inhibited and the leaf color faded slightly, but more new roots could be produced after the root system was temporarily cut off and inhibited, which was beneficial to transplanting, turning green and Honda growth. Squatting seedlings can be used for both early rice and late rice seedlings with long seedling age. Of course, it is best to plan the way of raising seedlings in advance, and it may be better to raise seedlings in two stages for some of the late stubble seedlings which are in danger of overage.
