Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Artificial turtle breeding has emerged in many places in recent years, especially with the turtle market leveling and turtle market strengthening, many turtle farmers have turned to turtle breeding. However, breeders found that although some female turtles lay a lot of eggs, the fertilization rate is not high and the hatching rate is low, especially the fertilization rate of turtle eggs at the first birth age is even lower. Many people think that there is a problem with the female turtle, but they do not know that the reason is not in the female turtle, but mainly related to the male turtle itself. Artificial turtles have sprung up in many places in recent years, especially with the leveling of the turtle market and the strength of the turtle market, many turtle farmers have turned to @ # @ 238 turtle farmers. However, breeders found that although some female turtles lay a lot of eggs, the fertilization rate is not high and the hatching rate is low, especially at the age of first birth. Many people think that there is something wrong with the female tortoise, but do not realize that the reason does not lie in the female tortoise, but mainly has something to do with the male tortoise itself.

Through practice, it has been found that there are differences in the development time between the sexes of many animals in nature. in general, the female gonads mature earlier and the male gonads mature later. The same is true of turtles, early sexual maturity in females and late sexual maturity in males, which affects the lack of effective mating between sexually mature females and males, resulting in a low fertilization rate of turtle eggs.

In view of this characteristic of turtles, measures such as adjusting the sex ratio of male and female turtles, raising them in dislocation, and increasing nutritional additives for male turtles can effectively improve the hatching rate.

(1) to increase the sex ratio of male and female turtles: from 2mur3purl 1 to 2mur1murl 2. So that each female turtle has a male tortoise to mate in time, because there is a basically equal sex ratio, which can increase more mating chances and thus improve the fertilization rate of female turtles.

(2) malposition of female and male turtles for one year: rearing the sexually mature female turtles in the first year and the sexually mature male turtles in the previous year in the same pool can prevent the male turtles from losing the effective mating rate due to the late sexual maturity.

(3) mixed culture of male and female turtles: first, the female and male turtles are raised in separate ponds for a long time, and once they enter the period of their estrus age, they are immediately mixed in time, so that the turtles are sexually excited and can stimulate the rapid gonadal development of turtles to complete mating. After the mating period, it will be cultured in separate ponds.

(4) adding nutrition and Chinese herbal medicine: adding vitamin-rich malt, freshwater shrimp, silkworm pupa, pig, cow and sheep placenta to the feed; it can also be directly mixed with vitamins A, D, E and zinc in the feed; it can also be mixed with pine needle powder, chives, epimedium, actinomycete and other Chinese herbal medicine powder, which can effectively improve the sexual function of male turtles, promote successful mating and improve the fertilization rate of female turtles.
