Breeding methods of Panax Notoginseng
Seed propagation, mainly by transplanting seedlings.
1. Seed treatment generally selects the seeds of 3-year-old plants with strong growth and no diseases and insect pests. When the fruits are ripe from 11 to 12 months, they are collected and washed, and sown in time. Because the seeds are stored for one week, the germination rate is greatly reduced. Before sowing, seeds were disinfected with 0.2~0.3 Baume sulfur mixture for 10min, or 200~300 times zinc for 15min, and then sown.
2. Sowing seedlings 2~3 months before planting, the selected land will be plowed many times, so that the soil has been fully weathered and finely divided. Before sowing, plough and harrow once more, then raise the ridge height of 18~ 20cm, the ridge width of 1m, apply 3000~ 4000kg base fertilizer every 667m2, mix well with soil, level the ridge surface, open holes according to the row spacing of 6cm×6cm, the hole depth is 1.5cm, put 1 seed in each hole, cover the soil with straw, avoid hardening of the ridge soil. In winter sowing in south China, seedlings emerge in 3 months and emerge in 4 months. About 100,000 seeds (weighing 8.5kg) can be sown per 667 square meters. After one year of cultivation, they are transplanted.
3. Transplanting was carried out from November to December. The seedlings dug out, do not hurt the roots, according to the size of classification, respectively transplanted. The seedlings are disinfected in the same way as the seeds, then holes are opened according to the row spacing of 15cm×12cm, the hole depth is 3 cm, the bud head of the seedling is planted obliquely downward, and then the soil is covered and the grass is covered.

Cultivation of Panax notoginseng
Panax notoginseng, which originated in Tertiary, is a paleotropical relic plant, and its distribution is extremely narrow, which is mainly related to the physiological and ecological adaptability of Panax notoginseng to the environment. Panax notoginseng is a perennial perennial herb with a growth cycle every year. In general, Panax notoginseng for more than two years has two growth peaks in one growth cycle, the vegetative growth peak from April to June and the reproductive peak from August to October. The germination temperature of Panax notoginseng seeds is 10mur30 degrees, the optimum temperature is 20 degrees, and the dormancy period of seeds is 45d-6.

Harvest and processing of Panax notoginseng
It can be harvested after planting for more than three years. Panax notoginseng harvested from July to August is called "spring Panax notoginseng". The quality and yield of Panax notoginseng harvested after bolting is the best, while that of Panax notoginseng harvested from December to January of the following year is called "winter Panax notoginseng" with poor quality and low yield. After digging, remove the stems from the ground and wash the soil. After cutting off the Reed head (sheep's intestinal head), branch root and whisker root, it is called "head". The boss will be repeatedly insolated and rubbed to make it tight until it is completely dry, that is, "wool". And then put the wool in the sack.
