Flower bed in the air: Fujimoto geranium
Fujimoto geranium, also known as Ivy geranium, is the main material of European balcony flower trough, hanging flower basket and flower bowl. It was introduced in China last year, mainly used for hanging flower basket, tall flower bowl and so on. The flowering period is as long as half a year in areas with suitable temperature. At present, the commonly used varieties are 'Tornado' and 'summer rain'. Among them, 'tornado' has the advantages of strong branching ability, short internodes, good plant type, heat resistance, rain resistance and so on. The trailing character of 'Xiayu' is obvious. The colors are rose red, purple red, magenta, purple, white and so on, which are suitable for the combination of many colors. The F1 generation seeds, which are mostly treated by coating, are usually sown in September in most parts of our country. The seedlings are finished in November, and they can survive the winter safely as long as they can keep more than 0 ℃. They will continue to grow from March to April next year, and flowers can be supplied to the market in May. In warm winter areas, the use of summer alpine seedlings, New Year's Day listed before, planted in the hanging basin as the New year's Lantern. The pH value of culture soil with good drainage for Fujimoto geranium is about 6.0. it can be slightly sour than ordinary geranium. Planting should not be too deep to prevent disease and wilt. During the growing period, continuous water supply and fertilization are needed, plants are often short of water, the leaves at the base of the plant will yellowing and postpone flowering, the proportion of potash fertilizer should be strengthened in the later stage of growth, and watering should be reduced as far as possible when the temperature is lower than 5 ℃ or higher than 30 ℃. In hot summer areas, strong pruning is often carried out before the arrival of hot weather, water and fertilizer control, dormancy to spend the summer safely, growth resumes in late September when the weather is cool, and can blossom again in November. The effect of CCC on Fujimoto geranium is obvious. Usually only 250-500PPm is used. When the seedlings grow to 4 true leaves, they should be used and watered 24 hours after spraying. The green yellowing of leaves will appear at the initial stage after spraying, but will disappear soon, and the application should be stopped when the flower buds appear. Pelargonium Fujimoto is often planted in pots with a diameter of 15 cm. When used in flower grooves, there are 2 plants in 60cm flower slots, which are often matched with other flowers such as Chrysanthemum morifolium. The row spacing of plants planted in flower bowls or green spaces varies from 6 to 9 plants per square meter, and good results can be achieved. Fujimoto geranium, with its handsome branches and leaves, bright color and rich flowers and colors, is the best balcony trough and hanging basket plant. It is also often used to beautify short hedges and combine potted plants. It plays a soft line of sight in the flower bowl application and increases the sense of hierarchy.
