How to improve the fruit quality of jujube
It is difficult to improve jujube fruit quality only by one or two measures, and a set of comprehensive technical measures is needed.
(1) To develop fine varieties, fine varieties must be selected for new jujube gardens. It is a fundamental measure to improve fruit quality to carry out high-quality grafting for the existing low-yield and low-quality jujube orchard.
(2) Organic fertilizer should be applied as the main fertilizer for complete fertilization, and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied appropriately. Nitrogen fertilizer has been paid enough attention to, but the knowledge of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is not enough. Excessive nitrogen application resulted in decreased sugar content and quality of fruit. Jujube is a potassium-loving tree species. Increasing the amount of potassium fertilizer appropriately plays an important role in improving the quality of fruit.
(3) The fruit setting rate of 3~7 year old jujube stock is high and the fruit quality is good, but the fruit setting rate of old jujube stock is low and the fruit quality is also affected. Therefore, the fruiting branch group should be renewed in batches year by year after the jujube orchard enters the peak fruit stage, so that the fruiting branch group aged 3~7 years is dominant.
(4) Improve the illumination condition of tree body by opening head, thinning branches and retracting branches in winter shearing, and by pinching, pulling branches and twisting branches in summer shearing, so as to introduce light into bore, promote photosynthesis of leaves, increase the distribution ratio of photosynthetic products in fruits, increase fruit coloring time and improve quality.
(5) Timely control of jujube rust, red spider, scale insect damage, often cause leaves to fall off ahead of time, so that the photosynthetic area is reduced, leaf photosynthesis decreases, fruit development does not get sufficient nutrients, can not mature normally, quality decreases. Jujube fruit skin disease makes fruit lose edible value, it must be carefully controlled.
(6) fruit maturity cracking fruit maturity in case of continuous rain, resulting in cracking fruit, pulp rotten fruit, seriously affecting fruit quality. In jujube orchard with proper conditions, especially dwarfing dense planting orchard, bamboo pole, iron wire and plastic are used to build protective shed at mature stage, which can effectively prevent fruit cracking.
