Characteristics: this variety belongs to indica two-line hybrid rice. the average growth period of double-cropping late rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is 118.3 days, which is 0.3 days later than that of Shanyou 46. The plant height is 106.9 cm, the plant leaf shape is good, the population is neat, the sword leaf is straight, the growth is luxuriant, the ear grain weight is coordinated, the cold tolerance is weak. The number of effective panicles per mu is 194000 ears, ear length is 22.7cm, total grains per panicle is 133.9, seed setting rate is 73.2%, and 1000-grain weight is 26.1g. Resistance: Rice blast 7, bacterial blight 5, brown planthopper 9. Main indicators of rice quality: head rice rate 57.6%, aspect ratio 3.0, chalkiness rate 25%, chalkiness 3.5%, gel consistency 87 mm, amylose content 21.5%.

Yield performance: in 2002, we participated in the regional trial of late indica, middle and late maturity and high quality group in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the average yield per mu was 440.15 kg, which was 2.29% higher than that of Shanyou 46 (not significant). In 2003, the average yield per mu was 468.34 kg, which was 1.25% lower than that of Shanyou 46 (not significant). The average yield per mu in the two-year regional trial was 454.25 kg, which was 0.52% higher than that of Shanyou 46. In the production test in 2003, the average yield per mu was 435.98 kg, which was 3.04% higher than that of Shanyou 46.

Main points of cultivation techniques: 1, cultivate strong seedlings: sow at the same time with Shanyou 46, sowing amount 15 kg per mu, seedling age no more than 35 days; 2, transplanting: transplanting specification is 18'20 cm, basic seedling per mu is more than 100000; 3, fertilizer and water management: 12-15 kg per mu of pure nitrogen, 7-8 kg of potassium oxide, 20 kg of phosphorus pentoxide. Water slurry management should promote tillering in the early stage, intermittent irrigation in the later stage, and avoid dehydration too early. 4.
