Wenchang pig
The variety comes from Hainan Province, and the central producing areas are Wenchang, Tunchang and Lingao County.
Breed description Wenchang pig has a medium to small body, a small head, a short mouth, a wide forehead, inverted eight-character wrinkles, small erect ears, a plump body, a wide back, a large sagging belly (but rarely mop the floor), a slightly tilted hindquarters, wrinkles at the hocks, more white and less black coat all over the body, and a wide band of black leather and black hair from the beginning to the tail root, commonly known as "black back stripe". The lower jaw, neck, chest, abdomen and limbs are all white, and there is a wide 3~5cm "halo zone" between black and white. There is a white triangular star in the middle of the forehead. Most of the nipples are 7 pairs.
In the body weight 13~73kg stage, Wenchang pigs had an average daily gain of 295g, dressing percentage of 69%, carcass lean percentage of 38.52% and fat percentage of 42.31%. Sexual maturity is early and fecundity is medium.
