It was selected continuously in 1988. Qilong black bean (formerly known as Wupi Qingren bean) was obtained by crossing black soybean as female parent and Xifengqing as male parent in Xinglong Branch of Agricultural seed Farm in Qidong City, Jiangsu Province in 1978. It was selected in 1988 after continuous selection.

Characteristic plant high 60~7Ocm, stout stem, fertilizer and lodging resistance, virus disease resistance, drought tolerance, sub-limited pod setting characteristics, floc, pod brown, pod height 20.5cm, 4 branches, 16. 2nodes per plant, 30 pods per plant, 3 pods, 60 seeds per plant. It was sown in late June, flowered in mid-August, harvested around October 20, and the whole growth period was 130 days. Qilong black bean seed coat, dark green cotyledons, light black navel, oval grain shape, 100 grains weighing more than 32g, large and tidy, good commercial. It has the function of medicinal health care, and has the functions of tonifying blood, nourishing spirit, diuresis and eyesight. According to the analysis of the testing center of Nanjing Agricultural University, the content of amino acid is 37.96% and the content of protein is 46.05%. It is a variety with few large-grain characteristics in the history of soybean cultivation in Nantong area. In 1999, the highest price was 136 yuan per kg5.00, the economic benefit was considerable, and the export trade was very popular.
