For this reason, in the past few years, the author combined with re-cutting after anthesis and made some improvements, so that when the cuttings were cut, the survival rate could be significantly improved. The specific methods are as follows: select sturdy branches on the plant, from the top down, every 4-6 true leaves, or cut a section 7-10 cm long, until the plant is routinely re-cut height after anthesis, and pre-designed into several cuttings. Then, at the distance,

Cuttage propagation geranium, because of its stem semi-fleshy, containing more water, so often rot occurs, affecting survival. For this reason, in recent years, the author combined with re-cutting after flowering and give some improvement, so that when the time comes to cut cuttings, its survival rate can be significantly improved. This is done as follows:

Choose thick branches from the top of the plant, every 4~6 true leaves, or cut a section of 7~10 cm long until the plant is routinely cut high after flowering, and divide it into several cuttings in advance. Then, at 0.5 cm below the stem node, carefully cut or peel the peel layer with scissors in a ring, 0.2~0.4 cm wide, taking care that the branches and leaves can still stand upright on the plant as usual. In this way, a branch can form 2~4 cuttings without separating from the mother plant. Because of the regulation of nutrients and hormones by circular wound, after 2~3 weeks of routine management, most axillary buds of cuttings below the top tip were stimulated to germinate, and the circular wound had dried and healed on the maternal plant. At this point can be cut off, and then cut one by one, placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry for several hours, to cut the cross section and dry conjunctiva, and then cuttage into the pot prepared in advance. After planting, pour enough water, and then see dry and wet, then all roots can be taken after three weeks, and the survival rate can reach 100%. Such improved cuttage measures are of great practical significance for the propagation of good and scarce varieties of Pelargonium and the effective use of maternal branches.

The author thinks that the circular cutting and peeling layer before in vitro, on the one hand, directly reduces the semi-fleshy cross-section area of cuttings, on the other hand, the most important thing is to block the polar flow of photosynthetic products in the leaves of maternal plants, so that valuable nutrition accumulation is formed at the base of cuttings before cutting, or callus is produced along the edge of the wound, which prevents the wound from infection and promotes rapid rooting, which plays an important role in its internal nutrition status.
