The new silkworm variety "Qiantang × Xinchao" selected and bred by sericulture Research Institute of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences (postcode: 310021, telephone: 0571-86404188) has recently passed the variety approval of Zhejiang Province.
The pupa rate of the fourth instar silkworm of this variety is 94.9%, the cocoon yield of ten thousand heads is 3.9 kg, the length of Jieshu silk is 755 meters, the purity is 95.8 points, the practical hatching rate is 98.7%, and the size of cocoon silk is 2.5 Dan.
