Occurrence and control of potato tuber moth
Potato tuber moth is also called potato moth, tobacco leaf miner moth, the masses called string skin worm, embroidery worm, potato maggot and so on.
I. Harmful symptoms
The damage is mainly caused by larvae, mostly from the bud eyes and broken skin of potato pieces. The larvae hatched on the plants spread with the wind and drill into the leaves from the leaves. After the dead leaves die, the larvae move to other leaves to harm.
II. Rules of occurrence
The potato tuber moth has several generations a year and overwinters in various insect states on the leaves of mother tubers and various host plants in the field. Adults day out night, phototaxis, flying power is not strong. Female moths laid eggs most frequently at bud eyes, broken skin, crack and sticky soil. The insect can adapt to lower temperatures and adults can still survive at-7 ℃. Flood years occur lightly, drought years occur heavily. Sowing shallow, thin soil occurred heavy, and sowing deep, thick soil occurred light.
III. Prevention and control methods
1. Seed potato fumigation treatment: divide 12 pieces of aluminum phosphide or cricket seed medicine into three parts, wrap them tightly with toilet paper, evenly put them in the middle of 1000 kg potato pieces, cover them tightly with film, do not leak air, suffocate for 5 days when the temperature is 12~15℃, and seal them for 3 days when the temperature is higher than 20℃. Be careful not to fumigate in places where people live, so as not to cause poisoning. The waste residue after use is poisonous and should be buried deeply.
2. Storage period control: before storage, should carefully clean the storage room, close the doors and windows, prevent tuber moth fly into the eggs. Tuber moths were found and killed with dichlorvos, dichlorvos, etc.
3. Field control: strictly select insect-free seeds when sowing. If transparent spots harmful to larvae are found on leaves in the field, the leaves should be removed and taken out of the field and buried or burned. Do a good job of cultivating soil to prevent potato pieces from being exposed. Hair moth peak period should be timely spray kill dichlorvos, dichlorvos and other pesticides kill moths.

Potato hollow heart disease
(disease diagnosis) occurs more frequently in larger potato lumps. At the beginning, the central tissue of potato blocks was waterlogged or transparent, and brown necrotic spots appeared in some centers. In the later stage, a cavity was formed near the center of the tuber. Most of the cavities are lens-shaped or star-shaped, and their edges are mostly angular; some cracks appear in the interior of the tuber; and some hollow shapes are spherical or irregular. The inner wall of the cavity is white, light brown to straw yellow, forming an incomplete cork layer. Usually, the cavity expands as the tuber grows. Sometimes mold can be seen in the hollow, but rarely.

Occurrence and control of potato tuber rot nematode
Fengning and paddock counties in the north of Chengde City grow more than 40, 000 hectares of potatoes a year, produce more than 800 million kilograms of seed potatoes and commercial potatoes, and store about 120 million kilograms of potatoes in winter. it is one of the four major potato production graveyards in the country. In recent years, due to the damage of potato tuber rot nematodes, the loss of stored potatoes was 5%-7% in 1994, and that of seriously damaged potato cellars was as high as 20%-30%. According to the data retrieved at present, this nematode is widely distributed in potato species in Asia, Europe, America and Africa.
