Characteristics: this variety is a conventional japonica rice variety. The whole growth period is 156.4 days in the late-maturing rice areas of northeast and northwest, which is 4 days later than that of the control Qiuguang. The plant height is 88.5cm, the total number of grains per panicle is 108.7, the seed setting rate is 88.1%, and the 1000-grain weight is 21.9g. Resistance: grade 3 of rice blast. Main indicators of rice quality: head rice rate 65%, chalky rice rate 4%, chalkiness 0.3%, gel consistency 73mm, amylose content 15.7%.

Yield performance: participated in the regional trial of Qiuguang group in northern rice region in 2002, the average yield per mu was 662kg, which was 0.8% lower than that of the control Qiuguang (not significant); in 2003, the average yield per mu was 668.3 kg, 1.3% lower than that of the control Qiuguang (not significant). The average yield per mu in the two-year regional trial was 665.2 kg, which was 1.1% lower than that of the control Qiuguang. In the production test in 2003, the average yield per mu was 643.9 kg, which was 2.8% lower than that of the control Qiuguang.
