Laboratory examination took smears of liver, spleen, kidney, blood and small intestinal mucosa of dead dogs, Gram staining and microscopic examination showed that Gram-positive and obtusely round bacteria could be found on the smears of intestinal mucosal scratches. The strain has spores, located in the center, smaller than the cell. After bacterial isolation and culture, biochemical test and toxin test, it was confirmed as Clostridium welchii.

Summary and discussion according to the clinical manifestations, pathological changes and the results of bacterial examination, it was confirmed that the cause of acute death in dogs was acute gastric dilatation caused by Weissoin. The strain is Clostridium anaerobes, which exists widely in water, soil and feed.
