How to choose honeysuckle varieties
Honeysuckle, whose scientific name is honeysuckle, is a semi-evergreen perennial vine winding shrub. It is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine and is known as natural broad-spectrum antibiotics. At the same time, honeysuckle can be made into a valuable drink. In recent years, with the development of the application field of honeysuckle, the cultivation of honeysuckle has changed from extensive management to centralized management, from creeping ecology to upright ecology, from one crop of flowers to four crops of flowers per year, the yield has been greatly increased, and the cultivation benefit is remarkable. At present, there are many places to introduce or expand planting, but if we do not pay attention to the selection of varieties, things will be contrary to our wishes.
In traditional Chinese medicine, honeysuckle is divided into honeysuckle, honeysuckle and honeysuckle. Honeysuckle, which mainly produces Xinmi in Henan Province, is a well-known historical brand at home and abroad; East Honeysuckle refers to Shandong products; Honeysuckle generally refers to the wild honeysuckle of the southern provinces. The above mentioned is not the cultivated variety name of honeysuckle, but the commodity name named after the place of origin.
Honeysuckle has been planted in Weir roads, gullies and barren mountains in history, and is in a state of semi-wild cultivation. Some local varieties have been formed through long-term natural selection and artificial selection. The cultivated varieties of honeysuckle are divided into hairy flower and line flower. There are great differences in dryness, Internode length and yield among different varieties. For example, the red-striped honeysuckle with creeping growth, long internodes and low yield can only pick one crop of flowers a year, which is an eliminated variety in production.
The large hairy flower is one of the best varieties successfully popularized in production. The large hairy flowers are characterized by green young branches, short internodes, strong erect, obvious dryness, thin leaves, dense hairy leaves, slightly curved buds, slightly yellowish green, lip and crown tube nearly equal, Corolla 5-5.5 cm long, sepals ovate-triangular, apex with rough hairs equal to or longer than calyx teeth, bracts broadly ovate.
The large hairy flower is erect and resistant to pruning. It has the habit of tapping and blooming many times a year. It can grow into a "honeysuckle tree" when cultivated in the field, picking flowers four times a year, also known as "honeysuckle of the four seasons". Below 500m above sea level in Zhengzhou, it blossoms for the first time around May 13, and blossoms again every 35 to 39 days after pruning (with an average effective accumulated temperature of 560 ℃) until late September. Through the experiment, the yield of cultivated Maohua was 61% higher than that of hybrid varieties. The hairy flower grows rapidly and is cultivated in water and fertilizer land with 333 plants per mu (1 m × 2 m). The thickness of the three-year trunk can reach 3.5 cm, the crown width is more than 1 m, the plant height is 1.3-1.5 m, and the coverage rate is more than 80%. It has entered a high-yield period in three years and has a yield of 100-150 kg per mu, which is the main variety at present.
