Etiology

Primary stomatitis is mostly caused by mechanical injury (such as bone, fishbone and other foreign bodies, or irregular tooth growth, etc.), followed by physical and chemical stimulation (such as oral concentration is too high or overheated irritant substances, etc.). Secondary stomatitis is common in canine distemper, hyperthyroidism and parathyroid function, lack of VB and so on.

Symptom

The spirit of the sick dog was depressed, the initial body temperature rose to 40: 41 ℃, refused to eat, the mouth was moist, the mucosa was red, and the saliva secretion increased. Severe oral secretion of a large amount of gray-white Zoysia-like mucus, saliva can contaminate the feeding trough, the ground and forelimbs. When examining the mouth, the animals resist, the oral mucosa is swollen, there is a large amount of tongue coating, the edge of the tongue and two gills and hard palate have ulcerated surfaces of different sizes, and white epithelial tissue falls off, and smelly or rotten smell can be smelled. The general course of disease is 10 to 15 days, if not timely can lead to dehydration or complicated with septicemia, the prognosis is poor.

Treatment.

Because sick dogs cannot eat, coupled with increased saliva secretion, dehydration is faster. First of all, the body fluid should be supplemented with 5% glucose and sodium chloride injection 500ml, penicillin 4 million u, Shuanghuanglian 40ml (Harbin Pharmaceutical Factory No. 3), ribavirin 5ml, VC10ml,654-215mg, intravenous drip; at the same time, metronidazole injection 250ml, intravenous drip. If the body temperature rises, aminopyrine can be injected intramuscularly, once a day for 2 days. For those with severe oral ulcers, 0.2% can be used to wash bismuth, rinse the mouth, and then apply iodoglycerin.
