Jinyinshu No. 8 (Potato)

This variety was introduced by the Institute of vegetables and Flowers of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1989 and bred after years of screening. The trial planting shows that it has strong adaptability and variety advantage in our suburban counties and all over the country, and it is very popular.

Characteristics of ① varieties:

The plant height is about 45 cm, erect type, few branches, well-developed root system, strong growth potential, hypertrophic leaves, green leaves and light lotus root. Yellow skin, yellow meat, shallow flat bud eyes, crisp and tender meat, good quality. The tuber is more concentrated, the commodity potato rate is high, the large potato rate is more than 80%, the growth period is about 90 days, and the dormancy period is short. It is an ideal precocious variety and an ideal fresh food export variety in China at present.

Compared with the main varieties in our city at present, this variety has four significant advantages.

a. Early maturity: it can be put on the market in the first and middle of June, similar to Dongnong 303, 15-20 days earlier than Xiaobailing, suitable for Erhe cooperative cultivation.

b. High yield: the yield of garden cultivation is about 2500 kg, and that of field cultivation can reach 2000 kg.

c. Disease resistance: it is a virus-free seed potato, and the incidence of virus in the field is 0-1%.

d. High economic benefit: the dormancy period of this variety is very short, the emergence of seedlings is fast, if the use of budding plastic film, listed 10 days earlier, the potato block is large and neat, which is very popular among the public. And export to Southeast Asia, there are broad prospects.

Key points of ② cultivation:

a. Growth period: sprouting in early March, sowing in late March, and harvest in early and middle June.

b. The row spacing is 1.4x0.6ft, and about 7000 plants are planted per 667m2.

c. Fertilizer and water management: potato requires loose soil, good air permeability and timely ploughing after emergence. When the seedling height is 8-9 inches, carry on the high ridge to cultivate the soil, after cultivating the soil, continuously irrigate the second time, and then according to the weather condition, the small water is frequently irrigated (semi-ditch water) to prevent flood irrigation.
