[plant character] Carnation is a perennial herb. The plant height is 30cm to 70cm. Flowers solitary, or 2-5 cymose, 8-9 cm in diameter; petals long; petals 5, contiguous, Obovate, limb apex irregularly toothed, white, pink, purple, etc.; cultivated species are often double. The natural florescence is from April to June.
