Characteristics: this variety belongs to indica conventional rice. the average growth period of early rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is 110 days, which is 2.2 days later than that of Jiayu 948 and 1.2 days earlier than that of Zhejiang 733. The plant height is 81.5 cm, the plant type is moderate, the cold tolerance at seedling stage is strong, the population is neat, the flag leaf is straight, the tillering ability is weak, the panicle grain weight is coordinated, and the color conversion is better in the later stage. The number of effective panicles per mu is 219000 ears, the ear length is 19.7cm, the total grains per ear is 108.9, the seed setting rate is 78.2%, and the 1000-grain weight is 25.9g. Resistance: leaf blast 7, ear blast 7, ear blast loss rate 10.8%, bacterial blight 3, white-backed planthopper 9. The main indicators of rice quality: head rice rate 41.7%, length-width ratio 3.2, chalky rice rate 33.5%, chalkiness 7.3%, gel consistency 83.5 mm, amylose content 14.2%.

Yield performance: in 2001, participated in the regional trial of early indica early and middle maturity group in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the average yield per mu was 490.7 kg, which was 11.34% (extremely significant) and 5.62% (extremely significant) higher than that of Zhou903 and Zhe 733, respectively; in 2002, the average yield per mu was 450.1 kg. Compared with Jiayu 948, the yield increased by 6.92% (extremely significant), and decreased by 1.53% (not significant) compared with Zhejiang 733. In the production test in 2002, the average yield per mu was 376.9 kg, 1.55% higher than that of the control Zhejiang 733.
