Early diagnosis and timely treatment are very important for acute and subacute pigs. The treatment of chronic anthrax pigs is limited, but they must be treated under strict isolation and personal care.

1. Serum therapy.

Anti-anthrax serum is a special biological preparation for the treatment of anthrax, and good results can be obtained when it is used at the beginning of the disease. The one-time volume of big pigs is 50 million 100ml and that of piglets is 300.80 milliliters. It can be injected half intravenously and half subcutaneously. If necessary, repeat the injection once in 12 or 24 hours. To avoid allergic reactions, it is best to use anti-anthrax serum from the same animal. If the serum of heterogeneous animals is used, 0.5 million ml of serum should be injected subcutaneously first, and then full dose should be injected after 0.5 hours of observation without special reaction.

The effect of simultaneous application of antibiotics and anti-anthrax serum is better.

two。 Antibiotics and sulfonamides.

The therapeutic effect of penicillin was good. Pigs were injected intramuscularly with 400000 ~ 800000 IU twice a day for 2 or 3 consecutive days. Oxytetracycline 1-2 grams, intravenous or intramuscular injection. Or penicillin is used simultaneously with oxytetracycline and oxytetracycline. Streptomycin, doxycycline, lincomycin, gentamicin, cephalosporin and sulfathiazole are also effective. The curative effect is better when penicillin is combined with sulfonamide.

Intestinal anthrax also needs to be taken orally with keliolin (stinky potion) 3 times a day, 2-5 ml for pigs each time.

It is also necessary to cooperate with symptomatic treatment and strengthen nursing work.

3. Prevention and control measures.

In order to enhance the specific resistance of pigs, ⑴ should be injected regularly every year to pigs in areas where anthrax occurs frequently or threatened areas, which is the fundamental measure to prevent the disease. At present, the following two kinds of vaccines are used in our country.

Non-toxic anthrax spore vaccine: 0.5 ml subcutaneous injection of pig. Immunity was produced 14 days after injection, and the immune period was 1 year. Ⅱ anthracnose vaccine: subcutaneous injection of 1 ml, 14 days after injection to produce immunity, the immune period is one year.

⑵ should publicize to the general public that pigs that die of unknown causes are not allowed to eat meat, let alone be transported to the market for sale, and should be dealt with after being inspected by veterinarians. It is forbidden to litter dead bodies everywhere and should be buried deeply in designated places. Slaughterhouses and meat factories should strengthen the quarantine of anthrax and strictly implement veterinary health measures.

After the occurrence of pig anthrax in ⑶, it should be reported to the competent department immediately, quickly identify the epidemic situation, make a diagnosis, and take resolute measures to extinguish the epidemic as soon as possible. ① delineates epidemic areas and epidemic spots, carries out isolation and blockade, and strictly implements various measures during blockade; half a month after the death or recovery of the last sick pig, the report is submitted to the superior for approval to lift the blockade and carry out a large-scale cleaning and disinfection. ② was used to prevent and cure diseased pigs and suspected diseased pigs immediately with anti-anthrax serum or at the same time with antibiotics. ③ carries out strict disinfection of contaminated enclosures, feeding and management appliances, etc.; contaminated feed, feces and wastes are burned; corpses should be incinerated or buried deeply (bacteria die because of corpse corruption, but may also leave behind diseases and retain pathogens.) When ④ found pig anthrax in slaughtering inspection, the production process was immediately stopped, the whole factory or workshop was disinfected, and a certain number of slaughtered pigs were treated innocuously before and after the detection of diseased pigs. ⑤ to strengthen the protection of staff, once there is a disease, as soon as possible to the hospital for treatment.
