It is the first new variety bred by indica-japonica hybrid in China with great popularizing value. It passed the appraisal of the results in 1992. The japonica type of this variety has a full growth period of 150 days, seedling period of 35-40 days and Honda period of 110-105 days in Beijing-Tianjin area. It is the first new variety bred by indica-japonica hybrid in China with great popularizing value. It passed the appraisal of the results in 1992.

The japonica type of this variety has a full growth period of 150 days, seedling period of 35-40 days and Honda period of 110-105 days in Beijing-Tianjin area. The growth is exuberant and the root system is developed in the seedling stage. There are 15 leaves on the main stem, the plant height is 90-100 cm, the stem is hard, the angle of flag leaf is small, the panicle type is scattered, some have short awn. The panicle rate is 85.6%, with an average of 108 grains per panicle, and the seed setting rate is 90%. The grain is short and round, the 1000-grain weight is 26 grams, the average yield per mu is 500-600 kg, and the high-yield plot can reach 650 kg. Its rice quality is excellent, tested by the Rice quality Supervision and Inspection Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, brown rice rate is 83.8%, milled rice rate is 77%, head rice rate is 67.5%, chalkiness rate is 1.6%, chalkiness is 2.26%, transparency > grade 2, gel consistency is 88 mm, amylose content is 19.2%, protein content is 9.3%, cooking quality is good, up to the standard of high quality rice. It has moderate tillering ability, lodging resistance, fertilizer-loving, drought-resistant, cold-resistant and disease-resistant. In the identification of rice blast resistance in 1987, its disease resistance ranked first among japonica rice in China, with grade 2 for leaf blast, 1.6 for panicle neck blast, and resistance to bacterial blight and false smut.

This variety is suitable for planting wheat stubble rice or medium rice in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and can be used as one-season rice in northern Shaanxi, central and southern Liaoning, Ningxia, * and other places.
