Doramectin is a new generation of macrolide antiparasite drugs. compared with other ivermectin products sold in the market, Doramectin has a wider range of antiparasites, better effect, and longer effective time to prevent parasite reinfection. it is the most effective and potential veterinary antiparasite drug in the world.

Doramectin was synthesized by adding cyclohexyl carboxylic acid to the genetic engineering mutant of Streptomyces avermitilis. It has cyclohexane group at C25 position. Doramectin is an internal and external fungicide, which is effective against nematodes and arthropods.

The main parasites in large-scale pig farms in China are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichinella spiralis, sarcoidosis, lung nematodes, kidney worms, whipworms, and external parasites are scabies mites, blood lice and so on. The infection of these parasites will lead to anemia, weight loss, hindrance of growth and development of pigs, decrease of feed conversion rate, and increase susceptibility to other diseases, causing serious economic losses to the industry.

At present, the deworming drugs commonly used in China's pig industry are: (1) internal parasitic drugs: albendazole, levamisole, trichlorfon, doxorubicin, hygromycin, ivermectin, avermectin; (2) external parasitic drugs: trichlorfon, diformamidine, diazinon, dichlorvos, pyrethroids, avermectin, ivermectin. None of the above products can control parasites both in vivo and in vitro, generally speaking, two other products need to be used repeatedly to achieve a good deworming effect.

1. Therapeutic efficacy of Doramectin

Doramectin had a good effect on digestive tract nematodes of pigs, such as intramuscular injection according to 0.3mg/kg body weight dose in pigs, the weight gain of artificial infection and natural infection was significantly higher than that of the control group at 7 days, 14 days and 21 days after administration.
