New varieties of soybean
Xinfeng No. 1 was bred by sexual hybridization with Chang 4 as female parent and Qunxuan 1 as male parent in Hongmiaozi Township Agricultural Technology extension Station of Xinbin County. It was examined and approved by Liaoning Provincial crop Variety approval Committee in December 2002.
This variety has a growth period of 121 days and belongs to an early-maturing variety. The average plant height is 94.7 cm, with sub-limited podding habits and 17.9 nodes of the main stem. The stem is thick and tough, with developed root system, lodging resistance, round leaves, gray hairs, white flowers, gray-brown pods, 59.9 pods per plant and 4 pods per plant. The grain is yellow, yellow navel, oval, glossy, 100-grain weight 22.3 grams, crude protein content 39.34%, crude fat content 20.61%. Resistant to soybean virus disease and downy mildew, natural insect grain eating rate is 3.9%, downy mildew grain rate is 0.3%, brown spot grain rate is 1.0%, purple jade grain rate is 0.8%.
In the two-year regional trial in Liaoning Province, the average yield of 667 square meters was 185.45 kg, an increase of 8.28% over the control. In the production test of Liaoning Province, the average output of 667 square meters was 187.3 kg, 8.3% higher than that of the control. The general yield is 170 kg.
The variety is resistant to drought and barren, resistant to disease and lodging, and has strong adaptability. There are 1.1-12000 seedlings in the middle and upper fertility plots of 667m2 and 1.3-14000 seedlings in the poor fertility plots. The best sowing time is from late April to early May.
It is suitable for planting in the early frost area in the east of northern Liaoning, and can also be used to sow soybean as potato wheat in summer in southern Liaoning, Hebei, Henan and other areas.
