A new strain of hybrid Gastrodia elata-Beinong 2
Beinong 2 hybrid Gastrodia elata is a new hybrid high quality strain produced after artificial pollination by Beijing Bei Nong Kexin Agricultural Development Center, using "Jingma 2" as male parent and "Yunma 1" as female parent. The breeding of this variety has successfully solved the deficiency of non-hybrid varieties of Gastrodia elata planted in high mountains, hills, especially in plain areas, and has been popularized throughout the country. It has the characteristics of high yield, high quality, no diseases and insect pests, simple management method, rapid growth, high economic benefits and so on.
After nearly 5 years of popularization, Beinong 2 Gastrodia elata shows that it has good commerciality, round and full (general weight is about 300 grams, up to 500 grams), high quality, especially strong fecundity, high reproduction coefficient, high yield in co-planting with Jingnong 2 Armillaria mellea, and wild cultivation in mountain area, hilly area and outdoor. 500 grams of flax seeds per square meter can produce 15-20 kilograms of fresh Gastrodia elata. Indoor box planting (60 cm × 50 cm × 40 cm) with 150-200 grams of flax seeds can produce 5-6 kilograms of Gastrodia elata; indoor bag planting (45 cm × 45 cm), 100-120 grams of flax seeds can produce 3 kilograms of fresh Gastrodia elata. The optimum temperature for production is 14-28 ℃, the optimum temperature is 20-25 ℃, and the total accumulated temperature during the growing period is about 3800 ℃. Outdoor winter planting (November to February) 10-12 months, spring planting (March-May) 7-8 months, indoor cultivation artificial temperature control about 20 ℃, 6 months can be harvested, cultivated twice a year. This variety has become a new variety to improve the yield and quality in Gastrodia elata production area, and it is also an excellent variety to develop Gastrodia elata production in plain area.

What is the effect of cultivation methods on the yield of Gastrodia elata?
Choosing a good planting method is also one of the important measures to increase the yield of Gastrodia elata. The use of box planting and pit planting of Gastrodia elata in double-layer plastic shed can obviously increase the yield. Because the double-layer plastic shed uses sunlight as the energy source, the output of Gastrodia elata is greatly increased. According to the experiment of the Special products Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the double-layer plastic shed was used to make the box planted Gastrodia elata overwintering in the shed. The weight of Shaanxi flax seed increased by 27.4 times and that of Jilin local flax seed increased by 99.8 times. If there is heating equipment in the room, use jar and plastic bag to plant

Cultivation of Gastrodia elata by electromagnetic field
In the practice of cultivating Gastrodia elata, it is found that Gastrodia elata has high quality and high yield in the cultivation area stimulated by nature lightning. According to this phenomenon, the asexual reproduction and cultivation experiment of Gastrodia elata was carried out by simulating natural electromagnetic field, and the high benefit of average yield of Gastrodia elata per square meter was more than 10 kg per square meter, some as high as 20 kg for several years. The cultivation time and species selection of Gastrodia elata are generally cultivated in the hibernating period of Gastrodia elata. That is, it can be autumn, winter or spring.
