According to reports, the outer skin of this kind of potato is black, the potato piece is oblong, and the cut potato meat is dark purple. Because the starch content of this kind of potato is higher than that of ordinary potato varieties, the taste of this potato is better.
Experts from the vegetable Institute of Mudanjiang City said that it took four years to successfully cultivate this kind of potato, and after years of additional cultivation, the breeding area has reached 5 mu so far. 7.5 tons of seed potatoes are expected to be harvested this autumn, and they can be popularized on a large scale from next year.
The reason why this kind of potato is black and purple is that it contains a lot of anthocyanins, which have anti-aging health effects. This potato variety has few branches, strong growth potential and strong disease resistance, and its yield per mu can reach 1500 kg, which is about 20% higher than that of ordinary potato varieties.
