Characteristics: mid-ripening japonica rice varieties. Plant height 85 cm, tough stems, more resistant to lodging. Compact plant type, typical leaves on ears, about 12 tillers per plant, ear length about 15 cm, 60-70 seeds per ear, 1000-grain weight 26 grams. In Heilongjiang, the growth period is 130-135 days. It is resistant to fertilizer, cold resistance and rice blast. The average yield per mu is about 450 kg.
Cultivation points: 33 holes per square meter, 2-3 plants per hole.
Suitable range: the second accumulated temperature zone of Heilongjiang Province, cool areas of Jilin Province and high altitude areas of Hebei, Shanxi and Shaanxi Province.

Hexi 40 (Rice)
The rice variety Hexi 40 was bred by cross between China and Japan in Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The plant height of this variety is 83.6 cm and the ear length is 16.8 cm.
