Last Updated: 2024/11/24, Cecal hepatitis is an infectious disease caused by Trichomonas in turkeys of the family Trichomonidae. It mainly infects chickens and turkeys, which can cause varying degrees of inflammation in the cecum and liver, and death in severe cases. Due to the disease, the facial skin of the chicken head becomes purplish blue or black, so it is known as "blackhead disease". For the treatment of diseased chickens, 0.05% metronidazole mixture was used to feed them, while 0.05%VC and 1% glucose were added to the drinking water for 3 to 5 days as a course of treatment, and the drug was stopped for 3 days, followed by another course. Cecal hepatitis is an infectious disease caused by Trichomonas in turkeys of the family Trichomonidae.

This method can better control the disease. At the initial stage of the disease, chlorophenyl arsine can be used, according to the dosage of 1 mg / kg ~ 1.5 mg / kg body weight, distilled water into 1% solution, intravenous injection, if necessary, repeated injection after 3 days, the effect is significant. It can also be treated with furazolidone and diphenylamine sulfide. The dosage of dysentery was 0.04%, and the mixture was fed for 7 days, and the effect was good; the dosage of phenothiazine was 0.5 g ~ 1 g per chicken, orally or mixed feed. It should be noted that phenothiazine can only drive out the adults of heterothorn nematodes, but it is ineffective to immature worms and should be used continuously. The new arsine vanamine (914) was mixed in feed to feed sick chickens according to 15 mg / kg ~ 20 mg / kg body weight, or according to the dosage of 30 mg / kg ~ 50 mg / kg body weight, 10% solution was mixed with distilled water and injected intravenously, it also has a good therapeutic effect. For sick chickens that eat little or no, you can take 1.25% metronidazole solution, 1 ml each time, 3 times a day.

For the clinically healthy chickens, the chickens were fed with Metronidazole, 200mg / kg feed, combined with appropriate amount of compound VB,3 for a course of treatment for 5 consecutive courses.

Because the transmission vector of the disease is Heterothorn, the field should pay special attention to the prevention and control of Heterothorn in chicken. The commonly used drugs are levamisole or vermectin. Levamidazole is safe and effective and can be used for internal administration, drinking water or mixing. The dosage is 20 mg / kg ~ 40 mg / kg body weight. After deworming, faeces accumulate and ferment.
