A rabbit is called a baby rabbit from birth to weaning. The sharpening rate of young rabbits has a direct impact on the economic benefits of raising rabbits, while the physique of young rabbits is weak and hairless, and their adaptability to the environment and disease resistance are very poor, so how to improve the survival rate of young rabbits has become a top priority. Today, the editor of Green Food Network summed up the five hurdles that need to be grasped to improve the survival rate of young rabbits.

Rabbit

One is the birth pass. Rabbits born within 10 days are naked and hairless, have poor thermoregulation ability, and the ambient temperature is too high or too low may lead to the death of young rabbits, so the best temperature in this period should be kept at 20-25 ℃.

The second is lactation. In addition to being rich in nutrients such as protein and vitamins, the most important thing is that the colostrum of female rabbits contains a large number of immune antibodies. If newborn rabbits can eat enough colostrum, it can enhance their physique, improve disease resistance and reduce death.

The third is to replenish the material. The young rabbits grow rapidly and need more nutrients. After opening their eyes at the age of 12 days, the milk of the female rabbits alone can no longer meet their nutritional needs and must be replenished. From the 13th, the young rabbits will be fed with a small amount of soft and digestible green grass and vegetables, and then high-quality mixed feed will be added gradually.

Fourth, weaning. The young rabbits of 30-35 days old were weaned and fed with forage with small size, easy digestion and high nutrition. 2-4 in each cage.

Fifth, disease prevention. Coccidiosis, pasteurellosis, rabbit plague and other diseases do serious harm to young rabbits, once the disease often causes a large number of young rabbits to die. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the immunity of rabbits as soon as possible and add drugs to feed to prevent diseases, clean rabbit houses and cages every day, and disinfect rabbits and cages regularly.

By defending these five hurdles, the survival rate of young rabbits can be greatly improved.
