Leek is a kind of side dish that many people like to eat very much, and the planting area of leek is also very wide, and there is a small area of planting leek in almost every household in rural areas. But in fact, growing leeks is not that simple, especially for large-scale growers. A good growth environment is closely related to the yield and quality of leek. The following editor brings you the requirements of leek on the environmental conditions, let's have a look!

1. Temperature

Leek has a strong ability to adapt to temperature, but a suitable temperature is the key to ensure the healthy growth and increase the yield of leek. Controlling the temperature at about 16-17 degrees after sowing can promote seed germination. During its growth period, the temperature needs to be raised to about 20 degrees. The cold resistance of leek is relatively strong, but if the temperature is below minus 5 degrees, the leaves will gradually wither by freezing injury. The temperature should not be too high, when the temperature is higher than 30 degrees, although it can accelerate the growth of leaves, but the water content will also increase, easy to burn, it is best to control the temperature between 19 and 23 degrees when planting.

2. Lighting

The growth of leek has relatively strict requirements for light, and the demand for light for leek is moderate. Excessive light will lead to the increase of leaf fiber, become rough, lead to premature aging of the plant, and reduce the yield and quality. And the light should not be too weak, if the light is too weak, the photosynthesis of leek is limited, resulting in leaf color loss of green, leaves become smaller, there are not enough tillers, reduce yield. And in the leek canopy, flowering and other important periods, we should pay attention to ensure that there is sufficient sunlight, suitable light can ensure the growth of leek, enhance the quality and increase the yield.

3. Moisture

Water also plays an important role in the growth of leek. Although leek has strong drought tolerance, suitable water can ensure the robust growth of leek. In the process of planting, we need to control the humidity in the field at about 65%, and the soil water content to reach about 90%. If there is not enough water, it will lead to precocious leek, aging leaves, and the quality will be greatly affected. But water should not be too much, too much water is easy to cause a variety of diseases and insect pests, leading to leek root rot. Therefore, we must adjust the watering work reasonably according to soil moisture and weather changes.

4. Soil

The growth ability of leek is relatively strong, and it can quickly adapt to normal growth in all kinds of soil. However, due to the small number of leeks and shallow distribution, there is a great demand for water and fertilizer. Therefore, when planting, we should try to choose the soil with rich organic matter, deep soil layer, soft and fertile soil and strong water and fertilizer conservation. And the soil has a great demand for nutrition, so we also need to do a good job of topdressing and adjust the proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer in the planting process. To prevent nutritional imbalance leading to excessive growth of leek, thin leaves and other bad phenomena.

The above is a brief introduction of the environmental requirements of leek, the growth ability of leek is relatively strong, although there are no particularly strict requirements for the growth environment. But a good and suitable growth environment has the effect of getting twice the result with half the effort. Finally, these are also the management work that we need to do well in the planting process. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only.
