The new soybean variety "Jinyi 30" cultivated by researchers of crop Genetics Research Institute of Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences was recently selected as the leading variety promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2008, and it is also the only variety selected in our province.
In order to comprehensively promote the project of entering households with science and technology, and guide the broad masses of farmers to select excellent varieties and apply advanced applicable technologies, the Ministry of Agriculture has introduced a total of 80 leading agricultural varieties to be popularized throughout the country this year.
"Jinyi 30" is a large-grain variety. The plant has strong rhizome, developed root system, many root nodules and strong nitrogen fixation ability, and has strong drought resistance and disease resistance. This variety has high and stable yield and good quality, and the highest yield per mu can reach 355.9 kg. It is suitable to be planted in Shanxi, Gansu, Shaanxi, Ningxia and other places.

The reporter learned from the relevant departments that the project "Research and demonstration of key Technologies for controlling Soybean continuous cropping and yield reduction" invited by the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau has made significant progress after two years of scientific research. The project was carried out in Yilan and Bayan counties with the largest soybean area in Harbin. Through the study of key technologies, soybean varieties resistant to continuous cropping, such as Kenfeng 16, Heinong 48, Kangxian 4 and Hefeng 47, were selected. It was proposed that 45 kg of nitrogen, 60-67.5 kg of phosphorus, 67.5-75 kg of potassium per hectare were applied.
