1. Selection of materials

Different types of pots should be selected according to the type, color, shape and size of Ganoderma lucidum. Generally, dark ceramic pots are better. If it is red Ganoderma lucidum, pine Ganoderma lucidum, then brown, purple basin is more ideal, can make tone coordination, simple and elegant. If it is a black purple Ganoderma lucidum, black Ganoderma lucidum, it is appropriate to choose a white porcelain basin to highlight the morphological characteristics of Ganoderma lucidum. It is not suitable to choose a basin with the same or similar hue as Ganoderma lucidum, so as to avoid a single tone. The material of Ganoderma lucidum can be collected wild or cultivated artificially. In artificial cultivation, Ganoderma lucidum materials with various forms and varied posture can be cultivated by artificially controlling temperature, light and air. If in the case of high temperature or hypoxia, Ganoderma lucidum with slender stalks or coral branches can be cultivated. The cap was deformed when the light was reduced.

2. The production of bonsai

1) congestion with quartz sand or other sand to make the shape of Ganoderma lucidum appear in the sand, but be careful that the sand is not higher than the basin surface. Weave a mesh of fine iron wire into a basin, insert the Ganoderma lucidum handle into the appropriate mesh and fill it with gravel.

2) use latex, glass glue, etc., to bond Ganoderma lucidum and other accessories in an appropriate position.

3) fix Ganoderma lucidum and its accessories in the basin with plaster. In addition to using sand in the basin, it can also set off sun-dried moss, branched lichens, Selaginella and other plants that are not easily broken, making bonsai seem natural. There is another kind of Ganoderma lucidum with short or sessile stalk, which has a large cap, so it is more convenient to make bonsai. During production, the base of Ganoderma lucidum is flattened and bonded in the basin. The cover of these Ganoderma lucidum is large and flat, on which they can write poems or draw landscape figures, and can also carve various patterns. When placed in a basin, one or more mosaics can be placed or overlapped together. Its surface is coated with transparent paint, which can be preserved and watched for a long time.

3. Naming of bonsai

Giving an appropriate and profound name to the bonsai is one of the artistic techniques in making bonsai. If the name plays a good role, it can play the role of "painting the dragon and clearing the sky"; on the contrary, it will give people the feeling of "painting the snake and adding feet". The naming can be determined according to the intended theme or according to the shape of the material used. If it is a single Ganoderma lucidum with strong growth and good shape, it can be named "auspicious"; if it is a bonsai with two intact Ganoderma lucidum and connected together, it can be named "together" or "forever tie the knot".

4. Preservation of Ganoderma lucidum bonsai

① should pay attention to moistureproof and insect protection. Ganoderma lucidum bonsai should be stored in a dry and ventilated place to prevent moisture regain and mildew; put an appropriate amount of camphor balls and other pesticides in the basin to prevent insect pests. If insects are found, fumigation, freezing or drying should be carried out, or they can also be exposed to the sun. If Ganoderma lucidum has broken or insect eyes, it should be sealed with paraffin wax or adhesive tape to prevent pests from invading and breeding. The mycelia of Ganoderma lucidum are most likely to produce maggots or eggs, which can be injected with alcohol or daubed with alcohol cotton balls. But be careful not to spray alcohol on the surface of Ganoderma lucidum, otherwise it will damage the surface and lose its luster.

② should pay attention to painting and dustproof. Because Ganoderma lucidum bonsai can be placed for a long time, the surface is easy to pollute stolen goods and dust and lose its luster. In order to prevent pollution and maintain brightness, the surface of Ganoderma lucidum can be painted with varnish, which can not only prevent insects and moisture, but also maintain the original luster, and avoid pollution (even if it is stained with dust). But the paint should not be too thick, otherwise there will be cracks, affecting the appearance of beauty. In order to prevent the invasion of dust and pests, the bonsai can also be covered with a glass cover.
