Hydrangea, alias hydrangea. It is a plant belonging to hydrangea genus of Saxifraga family. It likes shade, moist and warm environment. The suitable temperature for growth is generally 15℃~27℃. In hot summer, cooling can be carried out by shading, strengthening ventilation and light transmission, foliar spraying and other measures. The soil should be loose, fertile, well drained and slightly acidic.
Hydrangea can be used cutting, sub-plant, layering and other methods of propagation, but mainly cutting, are described as follows:
1. Cuttage method: Cuttage propagation can be carried out all year round in the greenhouse. Generally in May to June, combined with spring pruning and post-flowering shaping. selecting tender branches, lignified or semi-lignified branches without diseases and insect pests, cutting into 10 - 20cm long branches, reserving 2 - 3 leaves at the top and cutting 13 - 1/2 of each; quickly dipping in rooting powder, then inserting into seedbeds with disinfected river sand, vermiculite or expanded pearlite as substrates, properly shading, keeping the leaves moist, and keeping the room temperature at 13 - 18 DEG C. After the cuttings begin to take root, gradually reduce the number of water sprays and increase the illumination. Transplanting can be carried out in about one month.
Second, the plant division method: in early spring in March before germination for plant division propagation, the base of the roots of the branch from the base of the mother plant after planting, can also be directly potted, but the pot should not be too wet, put half shade maintenance, wait for shade after the new bud for routine maintenance.
Third, layering method: layering propagation needs a larger environmental humidity, can be carried out all year round, select healthy growth, semi-lignified branches, in the lower part near the node part of the lateral branch 20 cm from the top of the internode, with a knife cut phloem to cambium, with moist moss, peat soil or culture soil will cut the wound site wrapped, wrapped with plastic film, tied up tightly, if the temperature is appropriate for about 1 month can take root. At this point, in the layering site below the cut, remove the plastic film, you can pot or open field planting.
