Cutting techniques of eight Immortals
Although the eight Immortals have been cultivated for many years, they are still popular. However, in recent years, due to the aging of varieties and serious illegal reproduction, the price of finished flowers is low. To some extent, the cultivation of new varieties of eight Immortals has increased the market demand and improved the competitiveness of the majority of growers. The coming March to May is the main planting period for the seedlings of the eight Immortals, in preparation for the listing of New Year's Day and the Spring Festival next year. The following focuses on some management points after the arrival of New Year's Day's rootless seedlings listed on the market.
First, prepare before arrival
1. Greenhouse conditions
Solar greenhouse or modern glass greenhouse can be, but there must be fans, water curtains, heating and other rising and cooling facilities.
two。 Acupoint plate
Use the acupoint plate of 50 or 35 acupoints.
3. Matrix
It is generally required that the cultivation medium has good ventilation, water-holding capacity and buffering performance, and is relatively stable. The matrix mixture without peat and clay can be used in production. The seedlings treated with perlite and humus soil with the mixture ratio of 1 Zhao 2 were the strongest. Red and pink varieties require the pH value of the matrix to be 5.5 to 6.0. The suitable pH value of blue and white varieties is 3.5 to 4.0.
4. water
Rain Water (or the mixture of tap water and Rain Water) is an ideal irrigation water (the pH value is about 7).
Second, cuttage
It takes about 35 weeks for the eight Immortals to go from rootless seedlings to market, and the finished products listed by New Year's Day need to be cut in late March or early April the year before. It is ideal for cuttings to take root in seedling tray or in a single seedling bag. But the key to success lies in the selection of the substrate, we must ensure that the selected substrate is not too hard, in order to facilitate the rooting of cuttings. The eight Immortals are very sensitive at the rooting stage.
III. Rooting conditions
1. Temperature
When rooting, the temperature is kept at 18 ℃ to 20 ℃, and the environment with high humidity is ideal, especially after cutting. Because if the temperature of the substrate is too high, the root growth rate will slow down, or even stop; while the temperature is too high, the plant stem will be slender and thin, and the root system may stop growing.
two。 Light, humidity
It is necessary to properly shade and strengthen management after cutting. the general air relative humidity is 80% to 90%. When the seedlings grow for 20 to 25 days, the root system can be filled with nutrition bowls or holes.

The commercialization of eight Immortals promotes the cultivation
After the necessary refrigeration treatment, the eight Immortals are usually transported and sold by ship from late autumn to early winter. Like dormant plants, they can be planted in 4-6-inch pots, or like bare-root plants in 4-inch pots. Newly introduced plants should stimulate root growth before final planting (about 2 weeks). The optimum temperature for Baxian flower to grow is 15.6 ℃-16.7 ℃, while keeping the air temperature slightly lower, about 15 ℃, which can promote root germination before sprouting. Keep the soil slightly dry before transplanting

Management and propagation of eight immortal flowers
The eight Immortals, also known as Hydrangea, bloom from June to July. Flowers blooming white, gradually turning pink or blue, large globular, composed of sterile flowers. The flowers are in full bloom, like snowflakes pressing trees, charming and moving. It has dense branches and leaves, fleshy roots and strong adaptability. it can not only be planted in a corner of the family courtyard and patio, but also be potted to beautify the balcony and windows to add color. The eight Immortals prefer semi-shade and humid environment and are not very hardy. The hot summer bothers the scorching sun, otherwise the leaves are easy to scorch and turn yellow, and are not suitable for excessive dryness, so that they can be born in humus.
