Alias: Peruvian lily

Families and genera: Amaryllidaceae

Morphological features:

The roots of six flowers are fleshy, fleshy, tuberous, fascicled, and prostrate. Stem erect, unbranched. Leaves numerous, alternate, lanceolate, spirally arranged. Umbels, small and many flowers, trumpet-shaped, orange-yellow flowers, inner whorls with reddish-brown stripes.

Place of origin:

Liuhua is native to Chile, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico in Central America.

Biological characteristics:

Like warm, humid and sunny environment. Summer needs to be cool, afraid of heat, resistant to semi-overcast, not resistant to cold.

The optimum temperature for the growth of Liuhua is 15: 25 ℃, and the optimum temperature for flower bud differentiation is 20: 22 ℃. If the flower bud is kept at 20 ℃ for a long time, it will continue to form flower buds and bloom annually. If the temperature is more than 25 ℃, the vegetative growth is exuberant, but the flower bud differentiation is not carried out. The cold-tolerant variety can tolerate low temperature of-10 ℃ in winter and can blossom at 9 ℃ or lower.

Six flowers need sufficient water during the growing period, but high temperature and high humidity are not conducive to stem and leaf growth, and leaf burning and elbow phenomena are easy to occur. After anthesis, the aboveground withered into a dormant state, should stop watering, keep dry. After the tuber sprouts again, the water supply should be restored, but the humidity in the basin should not be too high.

Liuhua is a long sunshine plant. The best sunshine during the growing period is 60% to 70%. Avoid the scorching sun and give proper shade. If the sunshine time is short in autumn, when the flowering is affected, the sunshine time is 13-14 hours per day, which can increase the flowering rate.

The soil is loose, fertile and well-drained sandy loam, and the pH is about 6.5. Potted soil is a mixture of rotten leaf soil or peat soil, culture soil and coarse sand.

Purpose:

Liuhua is rich in design and color, strange in shape, and more elegant and rich when it is in full bloom. It is a novel cut flower material. In recent years, it has been used in potted plants.

Like warm, humid and sunny environment. Summer needs to be cool, afraid of heat, resistant to semi-overcast, not resistant to cold.

Development:

Liuhuahua is native to the Andes of South America and was introduced to England in 1754. It began to develop rapidly until it was used to watch cut flowers in Europe and America in the 1950s.

At present, the Netherlands is ahead of all countries in the breeding, reproduction and production of new varieties of six flowers.

Among them, Konst Liuhua Company is the most famous, which launches new varieties almost every year, and is the first unit to cultivate potted Liuhua. In addition, Pothos Botanical Company, Koning Clay Jack Van Zaden Company and VanStaaveren Company are all famous Dutch companies that produce six flowers. At the same time, the Pan American seed Company in the United States and the Life Technology (Lifetech) Experimental Center in New Zealand are also world-famous in the breeding and reproduction of six flowers. At present, the annual value of six flowers in the Netherlands is US $43.5 million, ranking ninth among the annual sales of cut flowers in the Netherlands.

The annual sales of Liuhua in Japan reached 43 million US dollars, with an annual output of 9.7 million units, ranking 14th in the output value of cut flowers in Japan. Industrial production of six flowers has also begun in Britain and Colombia. Since 1995, potted six flowers have developed rapidly and have become a new hot spot in the international flower market.

Liuhuahua is still in the introduction stage in China, and it is rare in the cut flower market, and only a few enterprises carry out small-scale trial planting. Potted six flowers are only on display on @ # @ 120 flowers, and cut flowers are still used. For this reason, potted six flowers is still a blank in our country, and has a good development prospect.
