The King of Pear--
Fengxiang pear was bred by the new century × three flowers hybrid in Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In the base introduced in 1999, 85% of the fruit was hung in 2000, with an average yield of 2.2kg per plant. In 2002, the average yield reached 38.5kg, the average yield per plant was 29kg, and the yield per mu reached 1523 kg, ranking first among 36 pear varieties in the base.
The variety has strong branches, strong growth, yellow branches in the first year, brown in the second and third years, no speckles, glossy, high temperature resistance, thin ridge tolerance, strong adaptation, early fruiting, more pollen, high fruit setting rate, high and stable yield. The fruit is tall, round and extra large, with an average weight of 458 grams and a maximum of 875 grams, light brown, spotless, glossy and consistent in appearance. When it matured in the first ten days of August, it was golden, thin and crisp, without stone cells, sweet and fragrant, with a small core, an edible rate of 95%, containing 14.2% of soluble solids and of good quality.
Young leaves dark yellow, adult leaves oval, tail tip, edge teeth apiculate, leaf surface spreading glossy, dark green, leaf veins fine. It has strong resistance to ring disease and black fishy disease, and is more resistant to pear rust. It has the market characteristics of beautiful appearance, large and high yield, excellent quality and early listing, the price is 3 times that of Huanghua pear, and the economic benefit is outstanding, so it is called the king of pears.
