Long-distance local introduction depends on whether the climatic conditions of the introduction place and the producing area are similar, that is, whether the climate of the two places in the same season is similar or whether the climate of the two places in different seasons is similar, for example, the winter climate of the south is similar to that of the north, the temperature is close, and the rainfall is not much different. In this way, the introduction of varieties is easy to achieve success.

III. Growth period of varieties

Potatoes like light and are sensitive to light. When it is introduced from the long sunshine area to the short sunshine area, it often does not blossom, but it does not have much effect on the growth of underground tubers, while the short day varieties are introduced to the long sunshine area, sometimes they do not bear potatoes. Temperature has a great effect on the growth of potato, especially in the potato-forming period, if the soil temperature exceeds 25 ℃, the tuber will basically stop growing. Therefore, when introducing varieties, we must pay attention to the growth period of varieties, especially the introduction of varieties from the north in our province, we must introduce early-maturing and mid-early-maturing varieties, and strive to harvest before the temperature rises.

Fourth, select virus-free seed stem

Virus disease is the main cause of potato variety degradation, it destroys the internal normal function of the plant, even if other growth conditions are met, the plant still can not grow well, and the yield will inevitably be seriously reduced. On the other hand, virus-free potato plants have developed roots, strong absorptive capacity, thick stems and luxuriant leaves, and generally increase production by more than 30%.

To introduce the early generation virus-free seed potato: the planting time of the early generation virus-free seed potato is short, the chance of re-infection is less, the incidence rate after planting is very low, the growth is robust and the yield increase is larger than that of the later generation virus-free seed potato. For the purpose of producing commercial and processed potatoes, second-or third-grade virus-free potatoes are generally selected. When introducing or purchasing seeds, formal seed management units and scientific research departments should be selected. At the same time, ask which virus-free seed potato base the purchased seed potato is produced, and whether there is a "seed certificate", "seed quarantine certificate" and so on.

Pay attention to trial planting and demonstration

In the same climate type area, the introduction in the area close to each other can generally be used directly. However, the climate type is different, in places far away, the new varieties introduced must go through the process of trial planting, and the trial planting is indeed better than the varieties planted in the field in terms of yield, quality and resistance in order to expand the planting area.
