Characteristics: this variety belongs to japonica conventional upland rice. The average growth period of dry farming in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is 113.8 days, which is 4.3 days later than that of Brazilian upland rice "IAPAR9". The plant height is 99.3 cm, the seedling stage is prosperous, and the plant leaf type is general. The number of effective panicles per mu is 179000 ears, ear length is 19.4cm, total grains per panicle is 101.6, seed setting rate is 71.0%, and 1000-grain weight is 26.2g. Resistance: drought resistance grade 1, rice blast grade 1, bacterial blight grade 9. Main indicators of rice quality: head rice rate 60.3%, aspect ratio 2.0, chalkiness rate 88.0%, chalkiness 15.8%, gel consistency 84.5 mm, amylose content 16.3%.

Yield performance: in the regional trial of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in 2002, the average yield per mu was 280.69 kg, which was 8.82% higher than that of the control Brazilian upland rice "IAPAR9" (extremely significant); in 2003, the average yield per mu was 254.61 kg, 8.84% higher than that of the control Brazilian upland rice "IAPAR9" (extremely significant); the average yield per mu in the two-year regional trial was 265.59 kg, 8.83% higher than that of Brazilian upland rice "IAPAR9". In the production experiment in 2003, the average yield per mu was 199.11 kg, which was higher than that of Brazilian upland rice "IAPAR9".

Key points of cultivation techniques: 1. Soil preparation: ploughing and leveling the land with a depth of 18-20 cm, opening ditches to make beds, spraying glyphosate or Nongda powerful herbicides to remove weeds 15 days before soil preparation; 2. Sowing: drying seeds before sowing, soaking seeds, chemical treatment. Strip sowing or hole sowing, sowing depth 3-5 cm, sowing amount 4-6 kg per mu, fertilization: 20 piculs of organic fertilizer per mu, 40 kg of compound fertilizer as base fertilizer, 8-10 kg urea at 4 leaves of seedlings and 10 kg urea at tillering stage. 4. Water slurry management: pay attention to timely irrigation according to soil drought during the whole growth period. 5. Weeding: special herbicides for upland rice can be used properly when sowing, and manual weeding should be carried out in time. 6. Control of diseases and pests: pay attention to the control of diseases and pests such as white leaf blight.

Approval opinion: after examination, the variety conforms to the national rice variety approval standard and has been approved. The variety has strong drought resistance, moderate ripening period, high yield, resistance to rice blast, high susceptibility to bacterial blight and general rice quality. It is suitable for dry cultivation of medium rice in the light incidence areas of bacterial blight in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hubei, central and southern Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.
