Fengruanzhan 13 is a new conventional rice variety bred by double crossing of Fengaizhan 1 × Thai rice) × Sanyuan P3. The yield per mu of late planting in 2000 was 4407 kg, which was 11.8% higher than that of the first control variety Yuexiang and 10.7% higher than that of the second control variety Japonica Indica 98. In the urban trial in 2001, the yield per mu was 427.7 kg earlier and 428.9 kg later. Compared with the control variety Yuexiang, the yield increased by 1720%, which was significantly higher than that of Yuexiang, and the yield ranked first successively.

The main characteristics are as follows: from sowing to maturity, the early planting is 120MUR 123 days, and the late planting is 110MUR 112 days. It belongs to the middle and late mature species. It is more cold-resistant in the early and late stages, and grows steadily. The leaf color is medium-thick, the leaf posture is slightly straight, the growth potential and tillering ability are strong, the maximum number of seedlings per mu is 29.3 million, the number of effective panicles is 19.1 million, the number of effective ears is 2.23 million, and the heading is neat. In view of the high yield, disease resistance and palatability of rice, the trial and demonstration of this variety is being expanded in various areas of Yangjiang City, especially in the areas with frequent occurrence of rice blast.
