According to the current market analysis, the price of dried Gastrodia elata is 150-200 yuan per kilogram, the profit is about 200 yuan per square meter, and the cultivation prospect of Gastrodia elata is promising. According to Wang Kangcai, Associate Professor of traditional Chinese Medicine Research Office, School of Horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural University, Gastrodia elata is a valuable traditional Chinese medicine. According to the current market analysis, the price of dried Gastrodia elata is 150-200 yuan per kilogram, the profit is about 200 yuan per square meter, and the cultivation prospect of Gastrodia elata is promising.

The growth of Gastrodia elata does not need light, but only suitable temperature and humidity. In most parts of the country, there are broad-leaved tree resources, slightly acidic or neutral sandy soil. Barren slopes, courtyards, indoor, greenhouses and vineyards, chestnut orchards, fields and so on can be planted. The planting season of Gastrodia elata depends on the cultivation method. The cultivation of Gastrodia elata is divided into sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction includes "first cultivating bacteria bed method" and "two bacteria mixed planting method". The former used Armillaria mellea to cultivate new bacterial materials from March to April every year, sowed seeds with germinating bacteria mixed with Gastrodia elata in May-June, harvested sexual seeds in November and commercial Gastrodia elata in November, while the latter sowed Armillaria mellea, fungus or branches, Gastrodia fruits and germinating bacteria in May-June every year, and harvested sexual seeds in November and commercial Gastrodia elata in November of the following year. Asexual reproduction includes "fixed bacterial bed method" and "three lower nest method". The former cut wood from May to September every year, cultivated the fungus with high-quality Armillaria mellea, sowed with Gastrodia elata seeds from October to March of the following year, and harvested in October of the following year; the latter was cultivated in the nest from October of the first year to February of the following year, and the commercial Gastrodia elata could be harvested in October of the following year. Although the cultivation time of Gastrodia elata is not fixed, it can be long or short, but it takes about 3 years to complete a growth cycle. The basic growth process is as follows: from November to February of the following year, the seeds of Gastrodia elata are sown, the seeds of Gastrodia elata mature in late June, and sown within a week. In November of that year, the seeds can grow into flax seeds. After 8-12 months of expansion, the seeds will become arrow seeds in October-November of the following year, and the third spring and summer season. Arrow hemp bolting, flowering, after pollination to form seeds, so that a growth cycle is completed.
