How to cultivate lilies
Lilium is a perennial herb of Liliaceae, and its varieties include Longya lily, willow leaf lily, iron mushroom lily, Suzhou lily, Yixing lily and so on, among which Yixing lily and Longya lily have better quality. First, fine soil preparation should choose sandy loam fields with good drainage, deep and fertile soil layer, and no continuous planting of lilies. Deep ploughing and sun drying, digging three ditches inside and outside. Second, the application of sufficient base fertilizer generally applies 75 kg of cake fertilizer, 20 kg of potassium chloride, 50 kg of diammonium phosphate or 45% of Leshi compound fertilizer per mu, while 25 kg of carbofuran per mu is used to control underground insects. Note that the base fertilizer should not be in direct contact with the lily bulb, so as not to cause the bulb to rot. Third, the lily bulb with a single weight of about 100 grams, compact scales, no decay and white bulbs is selected for seed treatment, which is divided gently and graded according to large, medium and small. The amount of seed used per mu is 350 to 500 kg. Before sowing, use 50% carbendazim glue 200 grams plus 50% phoxim 100 grams to water 25 kilograms, soak the seeds for 15 minutes. Fourth, timely planting is the best sowing time for lilies from late September to early October. Seeds are planted according to large, medium and small grades, with row spacing of 18 cm, plant spacing of 12 cm, planting depth of 5 cm, and 25000 plants per mu. Fifth, cover with straw to keep warm and moisturize around February 18 of the following year. There is no need to remove the grass layer after emergence. Apply 20 kg urea per mu before grass mulching, 25 kg urea per mu 2 days before topping, and then 10 kg urea per mu according to the situation of seedlings. 6. If a plant with several stems is found in other management, one strong stem should be left and the rest should be removed to prevent the bulb from splitting. Hit the top in time in mid-late May. When flower buds and bulbs appear from June to July, they must be removed as soon as possible to prevent nutrient consumption and promote bulb hypertrophy. Water should be replenished in time when there is high temperature and little rain in summer, and should be covered with sunshade net if possible, and water should be replenished in time after topdressing to avoid burning seedlings. Carry out artificial weeding in time. In autumn, the plant can be harvested when the aboveground part of the plant is completely withered and the bulb is fully mature.
