Due to the special climate, cotton and other cash crops can not grow and develop normally here. But for apricot, low accumulated temperature will delay fruit ripening, and large temperature difference between day and night is beneficial to sugar accumulation. The flowering period is 15 to 25 days later than that in the plain, and the fruit ripening period is 1 to 2 months later, and you can still eat fresh apricots on National Day; the apricots are large, juicy, colorful and sweet. Its fruit is still dried, and the dried apricot fruit has thick flesh and good taste. There are many local apricot varieties, collectively known as Kunlun apricot.

Yecheng No.2 pasture has made great efforts to develop the cultivation of apricot since 2000. at present, the cultivated area has reached 800hm2 and the fruit tree has reached 133hm2. Two varieties have been selected from the first 5 to 6: Dahong apricot and black leaf apricot.

Red apricot fruit round, smooth, thick red, the average weight of a single fruit 24.649, juicy, sweet taste, especially suitable for fresh food. The content of soluble solids is 12.73%, and the contents of total sugar, total acid and vitamin C are 6.65%, 1.89% and 32.03mg/g, respectively. The early flowering stage is April 15, the full flowering stage is April 18 ~ 21, the falling flower stage is April 22 ~ 26, the first fruit expansion period is from April 26 to May 21, the hard core period is from May 21 to June 11, and the ripening period is July 5.

Black leaf apricot fruit surface is smooth, yellow slightly flushed, the average single fruit weight is 24.28g, more fruit juice, high sugar content. The content of soluble solids was 14.75%, and the contents of total sugar, total acid and vitamin C were 7.58%, 0.95% and 15.71mg/g, respectively. The drying rate is as high as 38.78%, which is a good seed for drying. The dried apricot meat is thick and sweet. The early flowering period is April 10, the full flowering stage is April 15 ~ 18, the falling flower stage is April 18 ~ 22, the first fruit expansion period is from April 22 to May 10, the hard core period is from May 10 to June 10, and the ripening period is July 10.
