Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Postpone light pruning: regular trimming of tea crowns is carried out from December to February of the following year. Practice has proved that, first, the branches are vulnerable to freezing damage after pruning; second, the overwintering buds are cut off, which delays the germination of spring buds; third, the accumulated nutrients in the crown branches of tea trees are cut off, affecting the sprouting ability and growing thick branches of spring buds, and finally affecting the yield and quality of spring tea. Therefore, the pruning time should be carried out after the frost period, and the first spring tea can be mined 30-40 days after cutting. Early topdressing: most of the conventional topdressing is in the first and middle of March, spring buds.

Postpone light pruning: regular trimming of tea crowns is carried out from December to February of the following year.

Early topdressing: most of the conventional topdressing is in the first and middle of March, when the spring buds begin to sprout. The experiment shows that the nutrient utilization rate of spring tea is only 12%. If it is applied earlier in mid-February, the nutrient utilization rate of spring tea can reach more than 17%. It is appropriate to apply quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer (such as urea, ammonium sulfate, etc.) 20-30kg per mu, open a ditch 30cm-40cm wide on both sides of 25cm-30cm away from the tea tree trunk, then apply fertilizer into the ditch, cover the ditch and fill the ditch, and the well repairs the ditch. Spraying comprehensive foliar fertilizer, such as overharvest, rare earth multielement foliar fertilizer and Fuda multielement foliar fertilizer, can obviously increase the yield of spring tea during the germination of spring buds and the first development of one bud and one leaf.

Timely and early mining: most of the conventional mining is only mined when more than 10% of the shoots meet the picking standard. Spring buds should be exploited sooner rather than later. 5% of spring buds can be mined. First pick the buds below the crown, and then pick the buds on the canopy. When picking, the first and second batches should pick bud tips, or one bud and one leaf or one bud and one leaf to process high-grade famous and quality tea, and the second batch should pick leaves from one bud and one leaf to one bud and three leaves. Spring tea picking should not leave true leaves.
