Sunshine jujube is a new variety of fresh jujube discovered by the Forestry Bureau of Yuncheng County, Shandong Province in the mid-1980s. Local people call it long jujube. After 8 consecutive transfers for 10 years, the comprehensive characters of each generation were stable, and it was identified and named Sunshine Jujube in 2001. At present, this variety has been popularized with 166hm2.
The tree posture is open, the adult tree height is 4.5m and the crown diameter is 3.5m. The bark is dark reddish brown, thin striped and easy to peel off. The jujube head is reddish brown, the branches are soft, and there are 5 secondary branches. The jujube strands are short columnar in shape, and there are 3 jujube hangers in the young and 5 in the prime of life. The length of jujube hanging is 14.5-17.4cm, the length of Internode is 1.4-2.2cm, and there are 12 leaves. Leaves broad, broadly ovate or short oval, thick, nearly leathery, dark green, glossy. There are many flowers in the quantity.
The fruit is large, nearly short cylindrical, with an average single fruit weight of 27.5g and a large fruit weight of 35g, with neat size and shape. The shoulder and top of the fruit are broadly round and flat, without furrows. The fruit surface is smooth, the color is reddish brown after maturing, bright and bright. The stem depression is deep and the top depression is shallow and wide. The length of fruit stalk is 0.34-0.82cm. The skin is thin, the pulp is thick, light green, the texture is crisp and without residue, there is much juice, it is very sweet and sour, and the flavor of rock sugar is strong. The whole red jujube in the crisp ripening stage contains 36% Mel 38% soluble solids, and the edible rate is 97%, on the fresh food quality. The fruit core is fusiform, with an average nuclear weight of 0.8g.
Strong adaptability, wind resistance, anti-ring disease, anthrax, anti-cracking fruit. The fruit age is early, and the grafted seedlings bear fruit in the same year after planting. After 3 years, the economic yield is formed, and the average fruit of jujube hanging is 1.6.
In Yuncheng County, southwestern Shandong Province, it sprouted in early April, spread leaves in mid-April, bloomed in mid-late May, and matured in mid-late September. In early October, some late-flowering fruits matured one after another, and the fruit growth period was 110rel 120 days.
This variety has strong adaptability, early fruiting and high yield. it is a late-maturing fresh food variety with good quality and can be developed and popularized for commercial cultivation.
