Five methods of garlic storage
1. Hanging method. Garlic harvest, ready to hang the garlic to be strictly selected, remove those too small, rotten stems and leaves, damaged and damp garlic. Then spread it on the ground and dry it until the stems and leaves become soft and yellow, and the skin of garlic is dry. Finally, choose 50 to 100 garlic braids of the same size, hang them under the eaves of cool, ventilated and rainy houses, and let them dry and store.
2. Stacking method. After garlic harvest, remove loose cloves, moth-eaten, moldy and injured garlic heads, bundle 50 to 100 garlic heads into a bundle, and air leaves. After the leaves dry, dry the garlic roots. Garlic drying time 7 to 10 days, choose a cool and ventilated place to store. Stacking garlic outward, 3 to 5 days to open the garlic stack for airing garlic, whether cloudy or sunny to complete. Garlic should be aired during the day, evening stack seal good, so as not to rain rot. A week or so, then a second walk. Repeat this twice to dry all garlic, then transfer to indoor ventilation, stack in storage or large bamboo baskets, maintain low humidity, cool conditions, and check frequently.
3. Burial law. The width of the trench ranges from 1 to 1.5 m. 4. Radiation storage. The radiation treatment was to irradiate garlic with a lethal dose of 14000 roentgens of r rays. When irradiated, r rays penetrate the bulb to ionize water and other substances in the garlic body, producing free radicals or ions, thereby inhibiting metabolism. The method is simple to operate, high in preservation quality, and can be stored for about 1 to 2 years at normal temperature.
5. Chemical treatment and storage. Commonly used chemicals for fresh green element, its sodium, potassium, ammonium salt soluble in water, low toxicity to humans and animals. The method comprises the following steps of: diluting the fresh vegetable element by 120 to 180 times of water and spraying garlic leaves one week before harvesting after garlic bolting, thereby inhibiting garlic germination.
