Chutuan 17 rice is of good quality. tested by the millet chemical line of China Rice Research Institute, brown rice rate is 85.1%, milled rice rate is 77.2%, head rice rate is 74.9%, gel consistency is 80 mm, gelatinization temperature is 7.0, amylose content is 19.2%, protein content is 8.0%, chalkiness rate is 98%, chalkiness is 23.8%, transparency grade 4, grain length 5.0 mm, ratio of length to width 1.6. The first seven indicators are up to the first-grade stem rice standard issued by the Ministry. According to the identification of blast resistance of physiological races of rice blast in the plant protection line of Yunnan Agricultural University, four races Al, D1, El and G1 were resistant to blast, and three races B13, C13 and F1 were moderately resistant, which showed resistance to blast in regional trials and large-scale production. This variety participated in the regional test of Yunnan Province from 1995 to 1996, with an average yield of 650 kg per mu, ranking first among the tested varieties, increasing 56 kg per mu and 9.43% higher than that of the control variety 24, reaching a very significant level.

Cultivation rules:

The tillering ability of this variety is moderate and weak, so strong seedlings with 2 or 3 large tillers should be cultivated to lay the foundation for healthy plants and large ears.
