Pay attention to prevent pig eczema in hot weather

There are many causes of pig eczema, such as unhygienic, dark and damp pig houses, unclean pig skin, insect bites, chemical irritation and chronic digestive tract diseases.

In hot summer, many pigs often suffer from eczema. The ear root, chest, lower abdomen and the inside of the four seas of diseased pigs have flat papules of chestnut, rice and even peas, some are red, some form small water or small pustules, some form bran-like black crusts, and the diseased pigs have loss of appetite, indigestion and mental depression, which seriously affect their growth and development.

There are many causes of pig eczema, such as unsanitary, dark and humid pig skin, insect bites, chemical stimulation, chronic digestive tract diseases, metabolic disorders, endocrine dysfunction, vitamin deficiency and so on.

Preventive measures to strengthen feeding management, feed rich in vitamins and minerals, feed mix should be diversified. Keep the pigsty clean, dry and ventilated, at the same time keep the skin of pigs clean, and eliminate blood-sucking insects such as mosquitoes and flies in time.

For pigs with eczema, you can choose 1%-2% Lysol solution, 0.1% potassium permanganate solution, 3% boric acid water, 2% alum water, and then wipe the affected part with boric acid ointment or fish gypsum ointment. If there are blisters or pustules, after washing the affected part with the above solution, mix 60 parts of talc, 30 parts of zinc oxide and 10 parts of bismuth subnitrite evenly and apply to the affected part. If the skin has been broken, rinse the affected area with disinfectant and apply erythromycin ointment. For those with severe systemic symptoms, 10% calcium chloride or calcium gluconate 30ml and vitamin C2 ~ 5ml should be injected intravenously.
